Frequently asked questions

l

Do I need a referral?

Physiotherapists are first line practitioners which mean that you do not need a referral letter from your doctor. Just note that some medical aids request referral letters to process the claim. If you need to be referred to another medical practitioner your physiotherapist will be able to do so.

How long will the appointment be?

The first appointment usually takes between 45 – 60 minutes. Follow up appointments are between 30 – 60 minutes depending on the condition. We will decide on the time needed when booking your next session. If you are a new patient please arrive 10 minutes prior to your appointment time to complete an information form.

Do I need to pay for the visit immediately after?

We claim from all medical aids and charge medical aid rates. You are liable for the treatment cost if there is insufficient medical savings. You may pay cash or via EFT. We will email you an invoice after the appointment with all the information needed to make a payment.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable clothes like shorts or strappy tops depending on the problematic area. It is very important that the area is exposed for effective evaluation and treatment.

What should I bring?

Bring any referral letters, x-ray, sonar or other reports as well as personal and medical aid information.

Do you treat injury on duty (IOD) and road accident fund (RAF) injuries?

No, we do not treat IOD injuries. RAF injuries need to be paid and claimed back from the fund by you.
